3. Australian/New Zealander scientists/professionals are considered as NATO "nationals" (Australia and New Zealand are NATO friend countries). As such, they may participate but their related costs cannot be paid from the NATO grant. However, we are applying for additional funding from other agencies and they might have fewer restrictions on the country of origin of participants.

5. The course is at a fairly advanced level. The teaching in ASIs is aimed at scientists at postdoctoral level or equivalent as well as PhD students in their final year. Candidates who do not have a PhD, but do have suitable experience in meteorology and climatology, will also be considered. In the case of a more junior applicant we could consider him/her anyway provided references are good. However, there is also the hurdle of the competition, which is expected to be pretty strong.

9. We haven't arranged transportation from/to airport yet as this will depend on when people arrive/leave. In due time, we'll ask everyone when they arrive and plan transportation accordingly. As there are not many flights to Brindisi, we expect many people to arrive at around the same time.
